Well done to 9 of our older Scouts who planned, participated and fundraised in a sponsored walk to raise funds for our Scout Group.
The initial intention was to hike 8 miles , one for each year that they had been with the Group and they had hoped to raise a little money for the Group. Their ambitious target was set at £500.00.
Initially 8 scouts, for 8 years, hiking 8 miles, they raised a massive £800.00!
Nine scouts actually took part, but there were also 3 cubs, Mia, Antonia and Thomas who also deserve a mention along with all the parents who throughout the 8 years with the Group have supported the all sections.
To them all we say a massive thank you for all your efforts and support.

Here is the event report, written by George.
On Sunday 25th November we walked 8 miles along the Thames Path from Staines to Windsor. We wanted to raise money for our Scout Group to say thank you because we will soon be leaving 1st 4th Addlestone to move on to Explorers, and have enjoyed 8 years of amazing adventures through Beavers, Cubs and now Scouts.
The conditions were good as we headed off from Staines Bridge and soon the miles were passing quickly and we had reached the half way mark at Old Windsor Lock. After a brief rest on the steps of Albert Bridge (waiting for our parents to catch up with us) we continued through Datchet and across the Home Park onto the final leg of our journey to the train station. The rain held off, the scenery was great and most importantly of all we had raised £805 as a thank you to the leaders and volunteers of 1st 4th Addlestone.
